ADEN, Yemen / ISTANBUL (AA) - A powerful explosion rocked Yemen's southern Aden governorate Sunday after a suspected Houthi ballistic missile landed near a government military headquarters, a local source told Anadolu.
The missile landed in a remote sandy area in Bir Ahmed, behind an iron factory in the Al-Buraiqa district of western Aden, said the source, who requested anonymity.
No casualties or material damage were reported, the source added.
There was no immediate official comment from the Yemeni government or its military forces.
Aden serves as the interim capital of Yemen's internationally recognized government, which controls large parts of the country's southern and eastern provinces.
The Houthis control the capital Sanaa and much of northern and western Yemen.
