ISTANBUL (AA) - France's economy contracted 0.1% in the third quarter of 2026, following stagnation in the previous three months, the country's statistics agency INSEE said Friday.
The decline marked the second quarterly contraction this year, after gross domestic product (GDP) fell 0.2% in the first quarter.
Household consumption rose 0.4%, accelerating from 0.2% in the second quarter, while public consumption increased 0.3%.
Investment, however, fell 0.6%, following a 0.5% decline in the previous quarter.
Foreign trade also weighed on economic activity, with exports dropping 1.7% while imports remained largely unchanged.
Net foreign trade subtracted 0.6 percentage points from GDP growth.
