ATLANTA, US (AA) - Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Saturday that Türkiye shared its priorities and proposals for addressing global challenges during a G20 foreign ministers' meeting in the US city of Atlanta, reaffirming Ankara's commitment to multilateralism, diplomacy, and international cooperation.
In a post on US-based social media platform X, Fidan said he attended the Oct. 30-31 meeting, where foreign ministers discussed geopolitical tensions, energy, and supply chains.
He said the sessions addressed how interconnected global challenges are and examined their broader international consequences.
"We evaluated the interconnected nature of the challenges we face and their global impacts. We shared Türkiye's priorities and proposed solutions with our counterparts," Fidan said.
Fidan also said he held bilateral discussions with fellow foreign ministers, addressing bilateral relations and issues of common interest.
He thanked US Secretary of State Marco Rubio for hosting the gathering and welcoming the participating delegations in Atlanta.
"Türkiye will continue to take responsibility for global issues and contribute to the establishment of international peace and stability by championing multilateralism, cooperation, and diplomacy," he added.
On the sidelines of the G20 meeting, Fidan also met on Saturday with his Mexican counterpart Roberto Velasco Alvarez.
No further information was shared about the closed-door meeting.
