LONDON / ISTANBUL (AA) - Israeli President Isaac Herzog met his Hungarian counterpart, Andras Baka, and Prime Minister Peter Magyar in Budapest on Tuesday during a visit to Hungary.
Baka described the meeting as "fruitful discussions" in a post on the US social media platform X, saying peace, security and stability should not be taken for granted.
"We must never take peace, security and stability for granted. It is our responsibility to learn from the past and to work towards a safer, more stable and more peaceful future," he added.
Later, Herzog also met with the Hungarian premier during his visit to Budapest.
"We agreed that it is in everyone’s interest to further strengthen the close historical, cultural, economic and defence cooperation between Israel and Hungary," Magyar said on X.
The prime minister added that he was "pleased" to accept Herzog's invitation to visit Israel.
Meanwhile, a video on social media appeared to show Herzog’s motorcade traveling in Hungary without Israeli flags.
Reports suggested the absence of flags was linked to security concerns, although this could not be independently confirmed.
