Dockers led the general strike in Genova
GENOVA, ITALY - OCTOBER 30: Members of different unions seen walking together in the strike as dockworkers led by members of the CALP (Collettivo Autonomo Lavoratori Portuali) and USB (Unione Sindacale di Base) unions block access to the Varco Albertazzi port gate in Genova, Italy, on October 30, 2026. The blockade was organized as part of an international day of action across European and Mediterranean ports against military arms shipments, joining a nationwide general strike protesting high living costs, inflation, and social inequality.
