RAMALLAH, WEST BANK, PALESTINE - OCT. 21, 2026: Olive harvesting by Palestinian farmers in the town of Deir Jarir, near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, is under threat due to the Israeli army's prevention of access to agricultural land and attacks by Israelis who seize Palestinian land.
Israeli army is preventing Palestinian farmers who want to reach agricultural land east of the town for the olive harvest from entering the area on the grounds that it is a "military zone." Israelis who seize Palestinian land are also reported to be following farmers, stealing their produce and damaging olive trees.
Following the start of the olive harvest in the West Bank in early October, increased attacks and access restrictions are threatening olive production, one of the main sources of livelihood for thousands of Palestinian families.
