Venezuelan government deploys modular housing camps in Ciudad Caribia following devastating earthquakes

CARACAS, VENEZUELA - OCTOBER 31: The transitional camps in Ciudad Caribia are residential spaces built by the National Government to accommodate families left homeless following the seismic emergency and the earthquakes that occurred in June 2026. The structures consist of modular, single-family units designed for thermal regulation (to mitigate both heat and cold) and are equipped with a bathroom, beds, and basic utilities. These "Lego-style" metal structures can be assembled rapidly. The project includes the installation of more than 3,000 transitional housing units, distributed across various terraces within the complex—part of a broader plan that encompasses thousands of such units across different areas.
