Drone footage captures M20 highway submerged by deadly floods in Syria

DEIR EZ-ZOR, SYRIA - OCT. 29: Drone footage captured M20 highway connecting Deir ez-Zor to Damascus on Thursday Oct. 29, after deadly floods and overflows affecting northern and eastern Syria.

At least one child was killed in Hammar al-Ali village as a result of flood across the city, said the Deir ez-Zor Governorate Media Directorate in a statement.

The M20 highway was closed to traffic at the Harabe and Gubaceb locations due to overflowing floodwaters.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations dispatched search and rescue teams to the region.

Helicopters belonging to the Syrian Ministry of Defense also supported the rescue operations.
