ISTANBUL, TÜRKİYE - OCT. 24, 2026: A dive was conducted in Tuzla by the General Directorate of Fisheries and Aquaculture of Türkiye's Agriculture and Forestry Ministry to monitor the population status of endangered seagrass meadows and pen shells.
Pen shells native to the Mediterranean basin help filter seawater, while seagrass meadows produce oxygen through photosynthesis and provide habitats for marine life.
During the dive conducted in Tuzla on Oct. 24 to monitor the status of these species on site, the population status of seagrasses and pen shells protected by the Ministry was filmed and recorded. A stingray of the Dasyatis pastinaca species was also recorded during the dive.
