STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN - OCT. 31, 2026: Hundreds of people gathered at Odenplan Square in Stockholm on Saturday for another weekly protest against Israeli attacks on Palestine and Lebanon.
Responding to calls from several civil society organizations in the Swedish capital, demonstrators condemned Israeli attacks in Gaza, the occupied West Bank and Lebanon, as well as violations of ceasefire agreements.
They carried banners reading, “Children are being killed in Gaza,” “Schools and hospitals are being bombed,” “Stop the attacks on Lebanon,” “Doctors are not targets. Stop killing our doctors,” and “End food shortages.”
Demonstrators called for an immediate end to Israeli attacks on Gaza and urged the Swedish government to halt arms sales to Israel. They also staged a performance criticizing Israeli killings in Palestine and Lebanon.
A protester wearing a mask depicting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a bloodstained apron held U.S. and Israeli flags while standing over figures representing dead bodies.
Speaking to Anadolu, Swedish activist Ilan Cohen said he had joined the demonstration to show solidarity with the Palestinian people.
He called on the international community and the Swedish government not to remain silent, urging them to defend human rights and international law and to speak out.
Cohen said the protesters wanted the Swedish government to take a clear and concrete position in support of international law on Palestine.
