KHAN YOUNIS, PALESTINE - NOV. 1, 2026: Palestinians gathered in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, to protest the World Food Programme's (WFP) decision to close four bread distribution centers.
Protesters demanded the reopening of the centers, warning that the closures would further worsen the ongoing hunger crisis in the enclave.
On Oct. 19, the World Food Programme announced that funding shortages had forced it to reduce food assistance in Gaza, affecting approximately half a million Palestinians.
The Palestinian government also warned on Oct. 20 of rising malnutrition rates among children and pregnant women, calling for adequate funding for humanitarian aid and the opening of crossings.
