ISTANBUL (AA) - The 19th Verona Eurasian Economic Forum will take place at Istanbul's Ciragan Palace on Oct. 22-23, bringing together political, diplomatic, academic and business representatives from more than 30 countries.
According to a statement from the forum's organizers, the event, supported by the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen's Association (MUSIAD) and Ibn Haldun University, is expected to attract participants from countries including Türkiye, Italy, Russia, the US, China and India.
A key feature distinguishing the Verona Forum from other international gatherings is its ability to bring together representatives from different political and economic blocs on a common platform for dialogue.
The forum will address not only economic relations but also shifts in global power dynamics, the future of societies and opportunities for intercultural cooperation.
A special session will focus on the significance of Istanbul as the host city, Türkiye's role in the global economy and its strategic position between East and West.
One of the forum's main objectives is to explore models of cooperation that could transform Eurasia from a region of rivalry and competition into a space for collaboration.
The forum's cultural program will complement this approach.
On Oct. 21, Italian tenor Vittorio Grigolo, soprano Mariya Kokareva and pianist Filipp Kopachevsky will perform at the Ataturk Cultural Center in Istanbul.
On Oct. 22, the Atlas Cinema will host the Verona Forum Film Days, featuring selections from Turkish, Italian and Russian cinema.
Over two days, the forum will provide a platform for discussions not only on the future of the global economy but also on opportunities for countries and societies to build a shared future.
- 'Independent platforms for dialogue needed more than ever'
Antonio Falico, chairman of the forum's organizing committee, said the global economic order is undergoing a profound transformation, emphasizing that independent platforms capable of sustaining dialogue among different countries are needed more than ever.
Falico said the forum's agenda would focus on the emergence of a multipolar world order and Eurasia's evolving geopolitical position.
The forum will feature eight thematic sessions covering US-Eurasia relations, energy security, the future of the global financial system, reindustrialization, the impact of artificial intelligence on the economy and employment, and international trade corridors, including the New Silk Road and the Northern Sea Route.
