BAGHDAD, Iraq (AA) - Some 4,000 members of the Sinjar Resistance Units (YBS), an offshoot of the PKK terrorist organization in Iraq’s Sinjar region, will be integrated into the Iraqi Interior Ministry and the Popular Mobilization Forces (Hashd al-Shaabi), an Iraqi security official told Anadolu on Monday.
Lt. Gen. Saad Maan, head of the Iraqi government’s Security Media Network, told Anadolu that YBS members would be incorporated into the two institutions.
Asked which security bodies would absorb the group, Maan said its members would join the Interior Ministry and Hashd al-Shaabi.
He added that the 4,000 members to be integrated into Iraqi security institutions include women.
