Canadian prime minister to visit Türkiye on Oct. 22-23

ANKARA (AA) - Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will pay an official visit to Türkiye on Oct. 22-23 at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Türkiye's Communications Director Burhanettin Duran announced on Wednesday.

In a statement on US social media platform X, Duran said the visit would mark a historic milestone in bilateral relations, with the two countries expected to elevate their ties to the level of a strategic partnership.

During the visit, Erdogan and Carney will review all aspects of cooperation between Türkiye and Canada and discuss steps to further strengthen bilateral relations.

The leaders will also exchange views on current regional and global developments, Duran said.

Several agreements covering various areas of bilateral cooperation are also expected to be signed during the visit.
