ISTANBUL (AA) - England women's football manager Sarina Wiegman has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep her in charge until the end of Euro 2029, BBC Sport reported Monday.
The 56-year-old's previous contract was due to expire after next summer's World Cup, but the new agreement extends her tenure through the 2029 European Championship.
"I am so happy to be able to carry on with this squad and cannot think of a better job in football," Wiegman said.
"Working for a world-class organisation like The FA, and alongside so many people dedicated to winning England teams and the growth of our game, excites me every day," she added.
Wiegman led England to their second consecutive European Championship title in 2025, defeating Spain in the final.
The victory made the Lionesses the first England team, men's or women's, to win a major international trophy outside the country, according to the report.
England advanced to the second round of the World Cup playoffs last week after defeating Greece 8-1 on aggregate.
They will face Ukraine over two legs, with victory securing qualification for next year's World Cup in Brazil.
"My main concern right now is absolutely the World Cup, and helping this squad realise their potential in the years to come," Wiegman said.
"We have an important job to do to confirm our place in Brazil, and hopefully we can do that and give the country another special summer to remember next year."
Wiegman replaced Phil Neville as England manager in September 2021.
She guided the Lionesses to their first major trophy at Euro 2022, when England defeated Germany 2-1 in the final at Wembley Stadium.
