ISTANBUL (AA) - Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho is set to return to competitive football on Nov. 15, when he will play for Italian club Ravenna FC in a league derby against Forli, the club announced on Friday.
The match will kick off at 5.30 pm local time (1630 GMT) at Ravenna's Stadio Bruno Benelli.
The 45-year-old former Barcelona and Brazil star will join his Ravenna teammates for the match against local rivals Forli.
Ravenna president Alessandro Cipriani first revealed plans for Ronaldinho's return in Miami in June.
The Brazilian then met fans at Marina di Ravenna on Aug. 20, further fueling speculation over his return to the pitch.
Ronaldinho, 46, regarded as one of the most celebrated players of his generation, won the 2002 FIFA World Cup with Brazil and the 2005 Ballon d'Or during his career.
He also won the UEFA Champions League and two La Liga titles with Barcelona, as well as domestic league titles with Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan.
Ravenna said further information on ticket sales for the Nov. 15 derby will be announced through the club's official channels.
