Saudi Arabia gives all-clear in Abha, Khamis Mushait after emergency alerts

ISTANBUL (AA) – Saudi authorities issued emergency warnings in Abha city and Khamis Mushait governorate in the country’s southwest on Sunday before announcing that the danger had passed in both areas.

In separate posts on the US social media company X, Saudi Civil Defense said warnings had been issued through the National Early Warning Platform for Emergencies to alert residents to a potential danger.

In subsequent posts, Civil Defense announced that the danger had passed in both Abha and Khamis Mushait.

The posts did not specify the nature of the threat or report any casualties or damage.

The alerts come amid escalating hostilities between the Houthi group and the Saudi-led coalition supporting Yemen’s internationally recognized government.

Saudi Arabia has faced repeated missile and drone attacks by the Houthis in recent weeks.
