ISTANBUL (AA) - Top executives from Samsung affiliates and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman discussed the future of artificial intelligence and its business applications on Saturday.
The session was held at a Samsung human resources center in Yongin, south of Seoul, as part of the company’s leadership seminars aimed at advancing its AI transition, Yonhap News Agency reported, citing Samsung officials.
The discussions focused on how AI could reshape corporate decision-making and operations, as well as emerging business opportunities.
Altman said gaining a competitive edge depended not simply on adopting AI but on using it to accelerate operations, develop better products and outperform rivals.
Around 50 Samsung executives from its technology, finance and biotechnology units, including Samsung Electronics, attended the session.
Meanwhile, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won met with Altman in Seoul on Saturday, alongside executives from SK hynix and SK Telecom, the news outlet reported, citing industry sources.
They may have discussed cooperation on high-bandwidth memory (HBM) supplies and AI data centers, according to industry observers.
