Turkish President Erdogan stresses importance of enhancing ties with Turkmenistan

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday stressed the importance of strengthening Türkiye-Turkmenistan ties in all areas, particularly trade, investment, energy, and defense industry, in a meeting with his Turkmen counterpart Serdar Berdimuhammedov.

The meeting came after the 13th Heads of State Summit of Organization of Turkic Summit, which was held in Ankara.

The two leaders discussed bilateral relations, as well as global and regional issues.

Erdogan also praised Turkmenistan's contributions to the Turkic world, and expressed Ankara's desire to further strengthen cooperation under the umbrella of the organization.

He also invited Berdimuhammedov to attend the COP31 Leaders' Summit, which will be held in Antalya next month.
