ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye will host the ninth Istanbul Mediation Conference on Friday and Saturday, bringing together experts to discuss conflict resolution and mediation.
The conference will be hosted by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Istanbul, under the theme Partnerships and New Perspectives for Peace: Mediation in a Changing World, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in an official statement on Thursday.
Launched in 2012, the Istanbul Mediation Conference has become one of the world's leading platforms for conflict resolution and mediation, the statement said.
Türkiye actively promotes the peaceful resolution of disputes through the Mediation for Peace initiative, which it launched jointly with Finland at the UN in 2010.
The country also pursues mediation efforts in various regions and co-chairs the Groups of Friends on Mediation at the UN, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
