ISTANBUL (AA) - At least four people were killed Saturday in Russian and Ukrainian strikes, officials from both countries said, a day after Moscow and Kyiv confirmed a localized ceasefire agreement in southern Ukraine.
Oryol Gov. Andrey Klychkov said on the Russian social media platform Max that three people were killed in a missile strike on the regional capital.
Klychkov claimed the missiles used in the attack were "manufactured by NATO countries."
In Russia's southern Rostov region, Gov. Yury Slyusar said on Telegram that debris from a downed drone damaged a municipal public transport company facility in the regional capital.
Slyusar also said drone debris damaged a transformer substation in the settlement of Kalinin, leaving more than 170 homes without electricity.
He added that restoration work was underway and one person was injured in the strike.
Meanwhile, Samara Gov. Vyacheslav Fedorishchev said no injuries were reported in his region following "large-scale" Ukrainian strikes.
He added that emergency services were working at the sites of drone crashes.
Ukraine's General Staff said that its forces struck the main production building of electronics manufacturer Proton-Electrotex in Oryol.
It also said that the forces hit the Tolyattikauchuk plant in Tolyatti, in Russia's Samara region.
The Russian Defense Ministry said its air defenses shot down 616 Ukrainian drones over 20 regions, the Black Sea, the Sea of Azov and Crimea, which Moscow annexed in 2014.
The ministry also said it struck a facility used to produce uncrewed surface vessels at the port of Chornomorsk in Ukraine's southern Odesa region.
It also claimed hitting a dry-cargo ship transporting supplies to the port of Odesa intended to support the Ukrainian armed forces.
In the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, the city's military administration said two people were injured when an attack damaged a private residential building in the Obolonskyi district.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said a drone struck the Industrialnyi district of Ukraine's second-largest city.
Terekhov added that authorities were working to clarify details and assess the consequences of the strike.
Separately, Kharkiv Gov. Oleh Synyehubov said one person was killed and two others injured in a daytime missile strike on the city of Lozova.
Ukraine's Air Force said the country's air defenses shot down 101 of 126 drones launched by Russia overnight.
The overnight attacks came after Moscow and Kyiv confirmed Friday that they had agreed to a temporary ceasefire in the Russian-controlled city of Oleshky in Ukraine's southern Kherson region.
Both sides said the agreement was brokered by US first lady Melania Trump.
Moscow and Kyiv said the ceasefire would take effect in the early hours of Tuesday, while an earlier White House statement said it would begin Thursday.
